The Working Ranch
“It is always better to be an original than an imitation.”
~ Theodore Roosevelt
Located just northwest of Driggs, Idaho, framed by the majesty of the Tetons and under the watchful eye of the Big Hole Mountains, Canyon Creek Ranch enjoys abundant natural resources and authentic “big-shouldered” western ranch character.
6,920 acres with 2,620 acres deeded and approximately 4300 acres of forest grazing allotment, the ranch is a true original, enjoying a long working history. A range of diverse foreground views, mid-level vistas and scenic backdrops define the ranch’s viewsheds. These include dramatic long views to the Tetons and other nearby mountain ranges, intimate looks into the ranch’s canyon creeks, and expansive views across pristine meadows, pastures and working farm lands to the forested hillsides beyond.
Wildlife habitat and wildlife watching opportunities on the ranch rival those of nearby national parks; and include moose, deer, elk, black bear, bald eagles, sage grouse and numerous other animal and bird species. Among the ranch’s defining natural features are four distinctive canyon creeks, which run more or less in a southeast to northwest direction, offering unique character and one of kind scenic, recreational and wildlife values.
Lying directly adjacent to the Targhee National Forest, the ranch enjoys additional viewshed protection and backdoor proximity to the additional open space, wildlife habitat and outdoor recreation that these lands provide.
